I had the opportunity to attend a Leadership Development Program by the legendary Gary Rich of Rich leadership and below are the excerpts from his concluding session advice to us .
- Your brand will define your career and is the BOOK ON YOU . Every single interaction with a human being is your brand statement in action
- Keep seeking feedback on what i can do better . Not a day without seeking feedback . if you ask , people are very gracious and will take the time
- The one with the most perspective and has her head up above the clouds , understands reality better than others has an advantage . There are no clear or easy decisions .Seek perspective every day
- It is not what you dont know that hurts you but what you know for sure but just is not so . i.e dont be too sure and test your assumptions often
- Best leaders are those who see in you what you hope to be true . This is unbelievable priceless value . Find the gift in everyone around you
- Choose the best people
- Did i leave every person i met more optimistic than before they met me ?
- Be vulnerable
- The most important relationship is the one with yourself . if you dont know yourself , you cant have the relationship .
- Stay above the seductive pull to complain and whine
- Life goes faster than you think . Its true
